Algeria: car market ended the rush. Kia boomed sales and soared in third.

Accordingly with the data released by focus2move, aggregating information collected by many sources, including local media and manufacturers, in November2013 the Algerian light passenger’s vehicle market was down 2.0%, with 27.312 sales. Year to date sales were 353.407, up 9.4% from 2012.

Looking at the best brand performance:

Renault in last month has gained back the leadership, with a running market above 17%. However, in the cumulated figures, the gap accumulated in the first half to Peugeot was too deep and the yearly leadership is already loss, quite a sensational data for Algeria. Year-to-date sales had been 63.774 with a share of 18.0%, up 0.9 points from last year.

Peugeot was second during all the last quarter with a share at 14%, quite below the first half. However, year-to-date sales were 68.991 allowing Peugeot to be leader with a share of 19.5%, boomed 5 points from last year.

Kia was third in November with 2.351 sales and 8.6% of share, quite a tremendous performance for the Korean brand which in cumulated figures ranked only 8th with 18.791 sales and 5.3% of share, flat from last year.

Dacia was 4th with 2.335 sales and share flat at 8.6%. Thanks to a strong first half, in cumulated data Dacia ranked third with 33.595 sales and 9.5% of share, up 0.5 points from 2012.

Citroen recovered many positions in last quarter and in November ranked 5th with 2.184 sales and 8.0% of share, while year to date it was 10th with 16.376 units and 4.6% of share, up 2.2 points from last year.
