Algerian Automotive industry plummets in Q3 2014, although the trend improved from the horrible first half. However the country was the fourth worse among the top 30 global car markets. Renault is recovering thanks to new Symbol.

In September 2014 according to data released by focus2move Research Team and collected through local sources and manufacturers, total new Light Passengers Vehicles sold in this country have been 26.873 representing a 6.7% decrease from the correspondent month last year.

The market had been a little positive in the previous month (+0.3% Y.o.Y.) breaking a negative series started in January.

However, the third quarter was again down in double digit and the year to date September sales have been 258.218, down 16.3%, the 4th worse performance among the Top 30 Global Car Markets.

Following the dramatic fall reported in the first half, Renault have stabilized the third quarter sales and in September was flat Y.o.Y. with 4.706 retails.

In second place Peugeot sold 3.508 units (-19.7%) while Hyundai benefit from the arrival of a good stock of pre-sold vehicles to deliver 3.253 units (+131%) hitting the new record share in this market.

Kia in fourth was a little positive while all brands between the 5th and the 25th place have lost terrain, with the significant exception represented by Skoda (9th with 1.329 units, +76.4%).

Looking at the recently introduced report on Car Groups, the September leader was Renault-Nissan with 26.5% of market share, ahead of Hyundai Group with 20.4% and Volkswagen with 17.7%.

As far as model ranking report, the Renault Symbol was on top with 1.773 sales (+481% thanks to last generation introduction) ahead of Hyundai Accent with 1.588 units and Kia Picanto with 1.130.
