Argentinian Car Market hit new all-time record in 2013. Fiat Brand of the Year.

Accordingly with data released by ADEFA and ACARA, the Argentinian Associations of Car Manufacturers and Dealers, in December 2013 the light passenger’s vehicles market in Argentina was booming again posting 47.081 sales, up 36.5% from last year, the 9th year-on-year increase in a row.

The 2013 was archived with a new all-time record volume, at 916.211, up 14.5% from 2012 and the next is projected to be the first above 1 million units in a year.

Sharing general evaluation on Brands & Models performance, based not only on volume but also on results compared with potential, focus2move Team quoted the Best of the Year 2013, as Brand and Model. This was the result:

Brand of Year was Fiat in 5th with 11.3% of share, up 1.3 points from 2012. Second was Peugeot ranked in 6th with share at 10.7%, up 0.7 points from 2012. Third was Renault in 3rd with share at 15.4%, up 0.7 points from 2012.

Model of Year was the new Renault Duster in 5th place with 3.2% of share, up 0.8 points from 2012. Second was Ford Ecosport in 4th with 3.5% of share, up 0.8 points from last year. Third was Fiat Palio in 11th place with share at 2.4%, up 1.1 from year ago.

Looking at the best brands performance:

Renault rushed above 20% market share keeping the leadership ahead of Volkswagen. Sales were 9.425 with share up 2.2 points from November Full Year Renault was second, outpacing Chevrolet in the final month. Sales have been 140.430 with share at 15.4%, up 0.7 points from 2012 and 2.5 points from 2011. Best-selling model in the year was Clio in 3rd with Duster 5th and Sandero in 9th.

Volkswagen was second again with 9.425 sales and 16.9% of share, up 1.0 points from November. Full Year Volkswagen confirmed the leadership with 156.943 sales and 17.2% of share, down 2.9 points from 2012. In the year, Gol was market leader, as usual, with share at 6.3%, down 1.5 points from 2012. Behind, Suran was 8th and Amarok 21st, Fox 23rd and Voyage 25th.

Chevrolet was third with 6.909 sales and a share of 14.7%, down 0.1 points of share from the previous month. Full Year it was third with 139.426 sales and a share of 15.3%, down 1.3 points from 2012. The Best-selling model was the Classic (Corsa in Europe) ranked second, while Celta ranked 17th and Spin 32nd.

Ford was 4th with 5.583 sales and a share of 11.9%, down 1.2 points from the previous month. Full Year sales have been 115.036 with a share of 12.6%, up 0.4 points from 2012. The best-selling models were Ecosport in 4th, followed by Fiesta in 10th, Ranger in 12th, Ka in 15th and Focus in 18th.

Peugeot was 5th selling 4.342 vehicles with a share of 9.2%, down 0.5 points from the previous month. Full Year sales were 97.960 with a share of 10.7%, up 0.7 points from last year. The best-selling model was the old 207 ranked 6th, while 308 was 14th, Partner was 16th, 208 was 26th and 408 was 28th.

Fiat in 6th sold 3.996 vehicles with a share of 8.5%, down 1.1 points from November. Full Year Fiat was 5th with 102.972 sales and 11.3% of share, up 1.3 points of share from last year. The top model was the Palio ranked 11th while Uno was 20th and Siena 22nd.

Toyota was 7th selling 3.094 units with a share of 6.6%, down 0.1 points of share from November. Full Year sales have been 53.505 with a share of 5.9%, up 0.3 points from 2012. The top model was the Hilux in 7th with Corolla in 19th place.

Citroen was 8th selling 2.078 vehicles with a share of 4.4%, down 0.6 points from the previous month. Full Year sales have been 41.541 with a share of 4.5%, up 0.7 points from 2012. The bestselling model was the C3 ranked 27th with Berlingo in 39th.
