Argentina Vehicle Market down 25 percent in February 2015, posting the 14th Y.o.Y. fall in a series, the last twelve all above 25%. The market is projected at 0.6 million. Ford placed two models in the podium.

In February 2015 according to data released by ACARA and ADEFA, the Argentinian Associations of Car Manufacturers and Dealers, total new Light Passengers sold in Argentina have been 41.214, down 25.9% compared with the correspondent month last year.

Year to date February sales had been 105.601, down 33.9% with a full year volume projected just above the 0.6 million units.

February was the 14th year on year consecutive fall. The level of decline is impressive with considering that February was the “best” decline in the last 12th!

As reported by in a recent article, Argentina (and Brazil) had heavily penalized the January global performance of Volkswagen, which was anyhow the best-selling brand in the World. In February the VW fall was again high (-27.9%) with 8.1002 sales.

Ford gained one spot advancing in second with 6.200 sales (-18.2%) ahead of Chevrolet, third with 5.037 (-25.3%).

Just one out of the top ten was up, Mercedes, 9th with a surprising +50% with 868 sales.

As far as the car group’s performance and ranking, the leader was Volkswagen with 20.0% of market share, ahead of Ford with 15.0% and P.S.A. with 14.6%.

As far as best-selling models ranking, the Volkswagen Gol was the leader with 1.866 sales (-51.8%) ahead of Ford Ecosport with 1.427 (-12.3%) and Ford Fiesta with 1.423 (-54.6%).

As in the previous month the Ford Focus (9th with 1.127 units, +51.9%) was the first model in black on top of the list followed by the Toyota Corolla (15th with 930 units, +2.0%).
