Argentina Vehicles Sales in October 2016 volkswagen_touareg_executive_edition-2016

Argentina Vehicles Sales in October were steady up thanks to the upward trend in consumer confidence. Renault was the brand leader and the Toyota Hilux SW4 grew in double-digit.

Market Outlook

The decline in economic activity softened in August and the upward trend in consumer confidence continued in October. Moreover, international reserves jumped to a three-year high in October due to improved business sentiment.

Meantime, the vehicles sales were steady up in October, which was the fourth Y.o.y. positive month.

Indeed, according to data released by the ACARA and the ADEFA, the Argentinian Associations of car manufacturers and dealers, in October the vehicles sold had been 60.970 units, up 5.8%.

Year to date the total vehicles sales have been 585.292 units, up 9.5%.

Competitive Arena

In October, Renault kept the leadership reporting 9.549 vehicles sold (+24.3%) followed by Volkswagen with 8.598 (-31.0%), Ford with 8.330 (-0.6%), Chevrolet with 7.829 (+13.3%) and Fiat with 6.503 units (+1.9%).

Great performances posted by Honda with 980 (+157.2%) and Iveco with 586 (+193.0%).

Renault-Nissan led the performance by group with market share at 16.7% ahead of Volkswagen with 14.3% and Ford with 13.5%

The Toyota Hilux SW4 kept the leadership with 2.534 sales (+49.6%) followed by the Volkswagen Gol with 2.271 (-19.6%) the Toyota Etios with 2.247 (+69.5%). The Fiat Palio was fourth with 2.183 units (+124.6%) ahead of Renault Clio with 1.955 (-31.3%).
