Bahrain: 2013 car market hit New all-time sales record. See Top Brands & Models ranking.

Accordingly with data collected by focus2move.com in the market, 2013 was again a record year for the car market in Bahrain, with total light vehicles sales at 53.487, up 14.5% from the previous year. The 2013 increase was the slower in the last four-year while the third consecutive annual record. Looking at trends for 2014 and beyond, focus2move Research Tem projections are for a new record, despite with lower increase than in the past year.

Albeit a slow first half, Toyota ended the year with new record sales above 20k with 38.3% of market share, down 1.0 points from year ago. In the last quarter Toyota share boomed at 43.5% thanks to the outstanding performance scored by Corolla. The market leader obviously dominates the model ranking, with Prado, Land Cruiser, Hilux and Corolla on top of the list.

Nissan kept the second place and the best market share in the Gulf area despite a weak second half of the year, ending with 7.4k sales and 14.0% of share, anyhow better than the 13.5% of the previous year.New Altima is having growing success and in December surged as 6th best-selling model.

Hyundai was third with 6.0k sales and 11.4% of share, down 0.7 points of share from 2012. The best-selling model was the SUV Tucson in 5th place, first non-Toyota model in the market.
