Bahrain Car Market was up 29% in November 2012. Toyota Prado in the sky.

Pushed by a very favorable economic environment, the Bahrain car market posted in November 3.717 sales, up 29.3%, with the 21st consecutive year-on-year increase. Year-to-date sales were 42.159, up 47.0% from last year and 2012 will post the new all-time record.

Looking at the best brands performance:

Toyota dominated the market, selling 1.524 units with a share of 41.0%, up 4.1 points of share from the previous month thanks to the large SUV Prado exploit. Year-to-date November sales were 15.883 with a share of 37.7%. Toyota held 10 models in the top 25, with the Prado as market leader and other 3 Toyota in the following positions.

Nissan was 2nd, selling 440 units with a share of 11.8%, down 2.2 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 5.700 with a share of 13.5%.Nissan held 4 models in the Top 25, with the Altima in 6th position.

Hyundai was 3rd, with 418 units and a share of 11.2%, down 0.9 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 4.950 with a share of 11.7%.The best-selling model was Tucson, 5th this month, while the Accent was 7th.

Mitsubishi climbed to the 4th position (6th year-to-date) selling 222 units with a share of 6.0%, up 0.4 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date November sales were 2.239 with a share of 5.3%.

Kia was 5th (4th year-to-date) selling 203 units with a share of 5.5%, up 3.4 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 2.418 with a share of 5.7%.

Looking at the best-selling models, the Toyota Prado was the market leader (2nd last month and year-to-date) selling 426 units with a share of 11.5%, up 4.9 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 3.109 with a share of 7.4%.

The Land Cruiser was 2nd, with 296 units and a share of 8.0%,up 0.8 points from the previous month, followed by the Hilux in 3rd (4th last month and year-to-date) with 204 units and a share of 5.5%, up 1.1 points from October.

The Corolla was 4th (3rd last month and year-to-date) with 162 units and 4.4% of share, down 0.2 points from October, followed by the Hyundai Tucson in 5th (8th last month and 12th year-to-date) with 147 units and a share of 4.0%, up 0.8 points from the previous month

The Nissan Altima was 6th (5th last month and 14th year-to-date) with 127 units and 3.4% of share, down 0.2 points from the previous month, followed by the Accent in 7th (13th last month and 10th year-to-date) with 97 units and a share of 2.6%, up 0.7 points from October.

Behind it was a good month for the Lexus LX and RX, in 15thand 16th, up 10 spots from the last month, for the Kia Sorrento in 19th, up 14 spots and for the Hyundai Azera in 20th, up 25 spots from October. It wasn’t good for the Elantra in 22nd, down 16 spots.
