Best selling Cars in Europe June 2014 confirms the momentum for Renault models with the Clio again second and with Megane, Captur and Twingo among the fastest models. Peugeot 308, Opel Mokka, Seat Leon, Fiat 500L and Skoda Rapid the raising stars.

The list of 100 Best-selling Cars in Europe is sourced by focus2move.com Mobility Database, which aggregates data from all National Carmaker Associations or Dealers Associations, including for the European Community, ACEA. Data combined the 28 countries of European Community plus the 3 of EFTA (Norway, Iceland and Switzerland) plus East and South European countries such as Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia, Moldova, Belarus, Moldova, Armenia, Georgia, and Albania. We also include little countries like Monaco and Liechtenstein, despite for these countries data are preliminary and subject at a late update.

In June 2014, accordingly with data released by all local association of importers and by ACEA (Association of European Community Automotive Manufacturers), total Light Passengers Vehicle sold in Europe (44 countries) have been 1.645.000, down 0.1% from the correspondent month last year. In the first half of the year sales have been 9.255.000, up 2.4%.

As usual, no news on top of the list where Volkswagen Golf stands alone with 49.765 retails improving by 16.7% from June 2013 and ending the first half with a total of 293.233 units sold.

After years a Renault was back in second place thanks to the astonishing growth posted by last generation of Clio, second with 39.867 units, up 15.5% from year ago.

Volkswagen Polo fell in third place with an awful performance of 29.436 sales, down 16.5% from June2013 losing the second place also in the cumulative data.

Ford Fiesta was fourth with 29.072, not far from the Polo and improving volumes 4.8%. Behind there were Opel Corsa with 28.662 that outpaced the Ford Focus, sixth with 26.098 sales, down 17.0%.

Nissan Qashqai was seventh with 24.496 units, up 11.0%,  just ahead of Opel Astra with 22.636 units, Peugeot 208 at 21.409 and . Skoda Octavia sold 21.268 pieces, up 49.4% keeping one of fastest growing trend of the year.

Behind two Renault’s with amazing growth: the Megane 11th and up 26.4% and the Captur, 12th and up 90.9%.

In the city car (“A” segment) the best was again the Fiat Panda with 12.804 (28st in absolute) followed by Volkswagen Up! with 11.703 (in 34th) and the new Renault Twingo with 8.553 (in 56th).

Others performance to be mentioned have been scored by the “European Car of the Year”, the Peugeot 308 in 16th place with 17.103 sales, up 77%,  Seat Leon in 122nd with 13.632 (up 103%) and Opel Mokka, in 31st with 12.380, up 119%.

Fiat 500 L improved by 70.5% with 9.802 sales while Skoda Rapid, ranked in 52nd place with 9.252 sales, up 165%.
