Never ending fall for the Car Market in Argentina.

Car Market in Argentina Ford-Focus_RS_2016

Never ending fall for the Car Market in Argentina follows in January when sales collapsed 39% compared with the previous year. All are losers except Nissan and Kia.

In January 2015 according to data released by ACARA and ADEFA, the Argentinian Associations of Car Manufacturers and Dealers, total new Light Passengers sold in Argentina have been 62.739, falling down 39.7% compared with the correspondent month last year.

The last was 13th consecutive losing month and February will again down in the range of 40%, before to reduce the level of decline from March onwards.

Losing less than the market, Volkswagen improved the gap on the first follower with 11.761 vehicles sold (-32.4%) and 18.7% of market share.

Chevrolet jumped (just jumping back less than others) in second place with 9.697 units (-31.8%) ahead of Ford with 8.750 units (-21.2%), Fiat with 7.918 (-40.9%) and Peugeot with 7.451 (-45.3%).

To not report a year on year loss looks like a miracle and few brands were able doing it, such as Nissan (9th with 803 sales, +0.4%) and Kia (14th with 198, +28.6%).

As far as the car group’s performance and ranking, the leader was Volkswagen with 19.0% of market share, ahead of G.M. with 15.5% and P.S.A. with 15.5%.

As far as best-selling models ranking, the Volkswagen Gol was the leader with 3.508 sales (-31.5%) ahead of Fiat Palio with 3.091 (-2.3%) and Toyota Hilux with 2.707 (-27.7%).

Looking at the rank, the first with a not-negative year on year score was the Ford Focus (13th with 1.1818 units, +1.6%) followed by the Chevrolet Onix (14th with 1.769 units, +15.1%).
