Czech Republic Vehicle Sales Skoda-Fabia_2015

Czech Republic Vehicle Sales hit Record Quarter in 2015 projecting annual volume above 200.000. Volkswagen Group share near 50% fueled by an amazing Skoda performance.

In March 2015 according to data released by S.D.A., the Czech Republic Car Importers Association, the total new Car Passengers sold in Czech Republic have been 21.155, up 27.6% compared with the correspondent month last year.

The amazing trend of this central European country is now life since 17th consecutive month and the astonishing speed has already moved it at the best ever sales performance.

However, March +27.6% follows the +15.3% and +28.2% scored respectively in January and February ending the first quarter at 53.265 units, +23.9%, new best ever quarter in the history.

At this pace, the market projects final year volume above 200.000 units, really a huge level for country with 10.5 million people over a land of only 78.000 km2.

The Czech Republic’ economy returned to growth in 2014 following two years in recession with a 2.0% expansion. Increasing exports, growing private consumption and a recovery in investment were behind the pickup. However, Q4 GDP growth marked a four-quarter low, resulting from slower growth of investment and declining inventories.

More recent indicators suggest that the economy started 2015 on a solid footing. In February, the Manufacturing PMI rested comfortably in expansionary territory and economic sentiment was high again in the same month.

The Czech government in February approved a constitutional amendment which sets a 55% of GDP ceiling on public debt to limit future state borrowing. If the debt brake is approved by parliament, it will bring legislation in line with the European Union’s fiscal compact.

In the market arena, Skoda boomed quarterly sales by 44.7% at 16.884 units with market share up 31.7%.

Unchanged the rest of the podium with Volkswagen and Hyundai second and third with 6.493 and 4.615 sales respectively.

Ford and Opel had been the heroes of the quarter booming sales respectively by 73.8% and 66.8%.

As far as the Best Car Groups, Volkswagen Group dominate with quarterly share at 48.8% followed by Hyundai-Kia with 12.0% and Renault-Nissan with 10.5%.

As far as Best-selling models, the podium was dominated by Skoda, the Octavia was again on top with 5.811 sales in the quarter (+16.9%) ahead of Fabia with 3.326 (+89.7%) and Rapid with 622 (+11.7%).
