Europe: a sparkling end of the year reduced the 2013 loss at 1%.

Thanks to its database and the network of its local correspondents, focus2move.com is now able to release sales data for the entire Europe, from Portugal to Ukraine. The countries included are not only those inside the European Community – as released by ACEA association – but also others, such as Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia, Moldova, Bulgaria, Belarus, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine. Moreover, data includes cars and light commercial vehicles in order to give a better view of the True European light passenger markets and allow a pear with pear comparison with the rest of the World.

December 2013 was the fourth year on year growing month in a row for the whole European light passenger vehicles market with a total of 1.486.200 vehicles sold, up 10.8% from last year. Looking at single market performance, only one country (Ukraine) was negative in December out of the biggest 19 countries and this fact is more robust than the sceptic Car Manufacturers skepticism about car market trend: 2014 will be positive for Europe, in comparison with 2013.

Russia has broken a long negative series and advanced as largest European market in December, with 264.257 retails, up 4.4% from last year. In the year, Russia was second in Europe and 7th worldwide.

Germany was second in December with 225.399 retails, up 5.6% from year ago, while in the year was the biggest in Europe and 5th worldwide.

France was on the December podium growing 9.8% from last year, ahead of United Kingdom, 4th with 173.595 retails, with a wonderful 24.8% up.

Italy was finally up, following three years of monthly decline while Spain kept flying pushed up by scrap incentive scheme.

However, the fact of the month was in the Netherlands the 8th market, where sales at 43.314 boomed 118.5% from year ago thanks to the astonishing performance posted by the new Mitsubishi Outlander EV, new market leader.
