Europe Car Market October 2012 statistics by brand. Renault and Volvo up

Focus2move.com reported about the European Car Market by Country in October 2012 analyzing the trend and anticipating next month’s perspectives. The purpose of this report is to focalize on the brand performance.

Volkswagen confirmed the dominion over Europe with 132.676 sales and a share of 12.7&, down 0.5 points of share from previous quarter. Year-to-date sales were 1.377.488 with a share of 12.8%. The third quarter performance was built over a strong rebate to run out the old Golf, while now the new Golf is in the production ramp up phase and is slowing sales. However, up to Volkswagen press release, in the pre-launch period over 60.000 orders were taken in Europe. The launch date was November 9th.

Renault recovered after the awful September and was 2nd, up 5 spots, with 86.912 sales and 8.3% of share, the best this year. Year-to-date it was 4th with 714.936 sales and 6.6% of share. New Clio was successfully launched across all Europe and together with old version sales, contributed to the positive brand performance.

Ford was 3rd outpaced by Renault, posting 81.538 sales with a share of 7.8%, down 0.4 points of share from previous month when UK sales pushed it up.
