Global Auto Report with Top 50 markets in August 2014 shows positive performance for China and USA, while Brazil and Russia fall in double digit. India rose in 4th place while Iran, Portugal, Colombia and Czech Republic are listed among the fastest growing countries.

In August 2014 according to data collected by focus2move Research Team in over 110 markets, the total new Light Passengers Vehicles global market was up 1.4% from the previous year with 6.58 million units.

Year to date August global sales have been just over 57.01 million with an increase of 3.2% from year ago or 1.74 million more than the correspondent month last year.

In August, China kept growing with 1.7 million vehicles sold and a 5% increase compared with the correspondent month last year.

USA improved volume by 5.7% with sales at 1.58 million while the third, Japan, was again down a sharp 9.7% at 325.142 units.

Behind, India rose in 4th (two steps ahead from July) with a robust +15.8% and 271.475 units, followed by Brazil down again in double digit (-17.1%) with 259.152 retails.

Germany lost two places and was 6th, almost flat from same month last year, with sales at 227.820.

Russia lost a sharp 25.9% from the correspondent period last year with sales at 171.912 and cumulative loss at 12.1%.

Thanks to another good performance (+8.7%), Canada advanced another step and was 8th in August, just ahead of South Korea (+16.2%) and Mexico (+17.6%) respectively 9th and 10th with 144.875 and 103.881 vehicles.

Looking at top 5o market, the August fastest growing was Iran (14th with 74.657 sales, up 80.5%).

Others fast growing markets had ben Portugal (48th with 9.218, +31.8%), Colombia (29th with 27.658, + 17.4%) and Czech Republic (39th with 14.702, + 16.6%).

Among losing markets, Thailand (-31.4%), Argentina (-28.7%) and Perù (-12.3%) posted a double-digit decrease over the same month last year.
