Ireland Cars Sales Figures Toyota-Avensis_2016

Ireland Cars Sales Figures outstanding in the first half 2015 albeit June’s sales fell 15 percent. Fueled by a strong economic environment, the market stands among the best in Europe this year at highest level in 8.

Economic Environment

The Irish economy expanded at a notable pace last year and in Q1. Moreover, high-frequency indicators show that the momentum continued in Q2. While the volatile industrial production indicator contracted in May, in June the services PMI hit an all-time high and the still solid manufacturing PMI pointed to broad growth in the manufacturing sector.

In the same month, consumer confidence climbed to an over-nine-year high, fueled by decreasing unemployment, low inflation and low oil prices, as well as the ECB’s expansionary monetary policy.

The government’s promise of the first modestly-expansionary budget in 2016 after seven years of austerity also contributed to the rise in confidence.

Car Market Data

June ended a 17 months growing series. Indeed, according to data released by S.I.M.I. the Society of Irish Car Manufacturers, total new Car Passengers sold have been 1.449, down 14.3% from the correspondent month last year.

However, this market kept to be one of the fastest in Europe ending an almost positive first half at 82.535 units, +25.7% with full year 2015 sales that will hit the 100.000 units after seventh year.
