Kazakhstan Cars Sales collapse in Q3 dragged down the market

Kazakhstan Cars Sales kept collapsing during the entire third quarter as the country economy is experiencing a huge recession with fall in investments, private and public consumption.

Market Outlook

Recent data continue to suggest that Kazakhstan’s industrial sector remains depressed as industrial production plunged 7.5% annually in August, which followed two mild increases in June and July. The official oil output forecast for 2017 stands at 79.5 million metric tons, an increase on the forecast for this year of 75.5 million metric tons.

During the Q3 of the year, the domestic cars market proceeded in the really negative trend, one of the worse actually world-wide.

According to data released by the Kazakhstan Auto Association, in July vehicles sold had been only 3.404 (-61.0%), followed by 3.791 units in August (-43.5%) and 3.357 units in September (-60.1%).

Total vehicles sold year to date September had been only 34.274, collapsing 53.5%.

Competitive Arena

Year to date September, Lada retained the leadership selling 6.087 units (-66.1%) with market share at 18.8%, followed by Toyota with 5.902 units (+2.5%), Renault with 2.955 sales (-49.5%), Hyundai with 2.659 (-72.6%) and Kia with 2.325 (-71.9%).

Renault-Nissan dominated the performance by group with market share at 32.0%, followed by Toyota with 20.1%, Hyundai-Kia with 16.6%, Volkswagen with 7.2% and GAZ Group with 5.0%.

The Toyota Camry conquered the first place in the best-selling model with 2.258 (+41.6%), followed by the Lada Priora with 2.237 (-55.1%), the Lada 4×4 with 1.531 (-15.9%), the Gaz Gazelle with 1.503 (-58.8%) and the Renault Duster with 1.461 (-46.4%).
