Kuwait Car Market boomed 43% in November 2012. Toyota Prado at 12%.

Pushed by really strong economic factors, the Kuwait car market in November surged at 13.187 sales, up 43.0% from last year, with 11 months cumulated sales at 139.845, up 36.5%. Following the record posted in the 2011 at 112.500 units, the market will perform a new record in the 2012, with volume sales near 150.000 units.

Looking at the best brands performance:

Toyota posted the best month of the year, with 4.204 units and a share of 34.2%, up 3.5 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 39.249 with a share of 28.1%. Toyota held 5 models in the Top 10, including the monthly market leader, the Prado.

Nissan in 2nd, with 1.2429 sales and a share of 11.6%, was up 2.9 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 14.750 with a share of 10.6%. The best-selling model was the Sunny in 6th.

Chevrolet in 3rd sold 1.045 units with a share of 8.5%, up 0.1 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 10.656 with a share of 7.6%. The top model was the Tahoe in 6th place.

Kia surged in 4th (5th year-to-date) with 1.034 sales and a share of 8.4%, up 0.9 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 8.928 with a share of 6.4%. The top model was the Cerato in 11th place.

Hyundai was 5th, selling 970 units for a share of 7.9%, flat from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 10.053 with a share of 7.2%. The best-selling model was the Accent, 12th this month.

Mitsubishi was 6th, with 759 sales and a share of 6.2%, up 1.5 points from the previous month. Year-to-dare sales were 7.115 with a share of 5.1%. The top model was the Pajero, surged in 4th place this month.

Ford was 7th, with 502 units and a share of 4.1%, down 0.3 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 6.232 with a share of 4.5%.

GMC was 8th with 412 units and a share of 3.4%, up 0.6 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 4.311 with a share of 3.1%.

Looking at the top models, this month had shown a new leader, thanks to a fantastic sales volume of the Toyota Prado, which was sold in 1.481 units with a share of 12.1%, up 3.9 points from the previous month. The Prado was also the year-to-date leader with 12.529 units.

The Toyota Hilux was 2nd with 725 units and 5.9% of share, while the Land Cruiser was 3rd with 491 units and 4.0% of share.

The Mitsubishi Pajero grew in 4th place, from the 9th year-to-date, while the Toyota Camry was 5th, down 2 spots from YTD, and the Nissan Sunny was 6th, up 9 spots from the YTD.
