Lebanon Vehicle Market at best First Half ever projects a full year 2014 sales volume above 38.000 units, a record volume achieved despite several internal and external political and economic difficulties. Toyota boomed volume.

In June 2014 accordingly with data released by focus2move Research Team through local sources and the Lebanon Association of Car Manufacturers (A.I.A.), the total new Car Passengers sold have been 3.312, up a robust 24.5% from year ago. In the first half of the year sales have been 18.390 growing 7.5% from the correspondent period last year.

The market is almost stable since 2008 when for the first time exceeded the 30.000 units of annual sales level (it was 35.418). In the following years it was in the range of 34-36.000 despite internal and external dramatic events. The current 2014 trend is projecting the new record for the market, with sales above 37.000 cars that do not include the light commercial vehicles (over 2.500 units in the year).

In the market arena, the Korean brands dominion was further confirmed in the last half when Kia was the leader with 4.405 sales and 24.0% of market share (down 0.8 points from 2013) and Hyundai was second with 3.576 sales and 19.4% of share (up 0.5 points from 2013).

This market is really concentrated in few players and only other two brands have gained a share above 4 percent. Nissan ranked third with 2.402 sales and 13.1% of share while Toyota was fourth with 2.110 units and 11.5% of share.

Toyota was the raising star this year gaining a considerable space in the market thanks to Corolla and Yaris.
