Mauritius car sales down 7% in 2015

Mauritius Car sales down 7% in 2015 following the previous year record. Nissan have reduced the gap to the leader Toyota while Koreans follow with a huge gap. BMW led the premium segment.

According with data release from the local Authority for Transportation, the total new light passenger vehicles sold in the island had been 8.436, down 7.3% from the record hit in the 2014, posting the third highest volume ever.

Toyota sales were flat at 1.605 units with 19.4% of market while the second, Nissan, improved 5% at 1.417 units with 17.2% of market share. Almost distant the third, Hyundai, with 788 sales (-4.8%) followed by Kia with 736 and BMW with 638.
