Philippines Cars Market in 2014hit the New All Time record

In 2014 Philippines Cars Market hit the New All Time record, the third in a row advancing in 36th place inside the global auto ranking. The country is a feud of Toyota while Ford and Chevrolet scored great improvements.

In December 2014, according to data released by AVID and CAMPI (the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines)the new Light Passengers Vehicles sold in Philippines have been 26.566, up 30.0% compared with the correspondent month last year. This was the 14th year on year increase in a row.

Full Year 2014 sales The Philippines have been 269.841, up 27.6% from 2013, achieving the New All-time record, the third in a row.

In the global ranking, The Philippines are now 36th, a strong improve in few years.

Toyota dominates the market and celebrated the new all record sales with 11.738 deliveries in December while in the Full Year sales were 105.724, over 30.000 units more than in the 2013 and for the first time above the 100k level. The market share was 39.5%.

The second was Mitsubishi that is very popular in this country and is investing to produce locally. The year ended with sales above 50.000 units for the first time.

Hyundai was third with respectively 1.901 and 23.019 sales in December and in the year.

The Winner of the year was Toyota, able to improve over 40% from an already high level. Others great performers were Ford (4th with 20.341, +53.1%), Chevrolet (8th with 8.047 sales, +58.8%) and Peugeot (17th with 428 units, +164.2%).

As far as the car group’s performance and ranking, the December leader was Toyota with 42.3% of market share, ahead of Mitsubishi with 17.7% and Ford with 9.5%.
