World Cars Brand Ranking in 2017 led by Toyota. Thanks to the sales acceleration during the second half, Honda has overtaken Nissan in fourth place. Koreans are in free fall due to the sharp lost reported in China. Fastest growing brands are the Chinese Roewe and Geely.
World Car Group Ranking at the end of 2017 led by Volkswagen with 10.4 million units ahead of Toyota and Renault-Nissan. American brands are the losers, while Japanese are winners. The best performance, however, was the Chinese Geely, up 35%.
2014 Global Car Sales were not led by Toyota, being outpaced by Volkswagen. While the global leader as “vehicles” sales remains Honda (including trucks and motorbikes) in the “cars” sector leader was Volkswagen.
In January 2014 the global light passenger sales posted the 11th grew in a row despite unfavourable comparison with January 2013. China, Japan and some European countries are now driving up the market while North America and Asean are decelerating.
