Taiwanese Vehicle Sales

Taiwanese Vehicle sales slow in November 2014 after eight months of consecutive increase year on year. Toyota dominated the scene with four models in the top five.

In November 2014 according to data released by the Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturing Association, total new Car Passengers sold in Taiwan have been 33.947, down 2.2% compared with the correspondent month last year posting the first decrease after 8th consecutive increasing month in a string.

Year-to-date November sales in Taiwan have been 381.899, up 12.3% from the correspondent period last year.

Toyota was market leader with 11.086 sales in November and 113.231 year to date with share respectively at 32.7% and 29.6%, with sales volume down 0.9% compared with last year.

Nissan was second despite losing 22.5% year-on-year with sales at 3.801 an cumulative figures at 43.538, just ahead of Mitsubishi with 2.762 registrations (-16.8% y.o.y.), Ford with 2.173 (+6.3% y.o.y.) and Honda with 1.961 (-3.6%).

Looking at the report on Car Groups, the November leader was Toyota with 36.5% of market share, ahead of Renault-Nissan with 11.2% and Mitsubishi with 8.1%.

As far as model ranking reportToyota dominated the scene with four models in the top five – the Corolla with 3.869 units, the Yaris with 1.638, the RAV4 with 1.533 pieces and the Wish with 1.286 units. Mitsubishi Veryca and Ford Focus were the other models over 1000 units sold this month.
