Turkey: Light Vehicle Sales Statistics: October 2013.

Accordingly with data released by O.D.D. (Otomotiv Distribütörleri Derneği), in October the light passenger vehicles sold in the country were 58.014, down 3.2% breaking a series of 9th year-on-year winning streak. Year to date sales were 644.195, up 9.1% from last year.

The passenger car market went up by 8.2% in October at 46.985 units while the light commercial vehicle sales dropped 33.1% at 11.029 units.

Looking at the best brands performance (Cars + LCV market):

Volkswagen in first place sold 9.228 vehicles with a share of 15.9%, up 2.3 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 89.736 with a share of 13.9%, up 2.0 points from last year. Booming sales, the Jetta jumped in first place among models.

Ford advanced in second place with 7.032 sales and12.1% of share, down 0.2 points from September. Year-to-date Ford was third with 78.932 sales and 12.3% of share, down 1.4 points from last year. The top model Focus ranked 6th.

Renault was outpaced by Ford just for few units and was third with6.988 units with a share of 12.0%, down 0.9 from September. Year-to-date Renault was second again with 81.921 sales and a share of 12.7%, up 1.2 points from 2012.

Fiat was 4th selling 6.156 vehicles with a share of 10.6%, down 0.1 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 75.627 with a share of 11.7%, down 1.5 points from last year.

Hyundai was 5th with 3.758 sales and 6.5% of share, up 0.4 points from the previous month. Year-to-date Hyundai was 6th with 37.781 sales and 5.9% of share, flat from last year. The bestselling model was the I20 ranked in 14th.

Toyota was 6thselling 3.287 vehicles with a share of 5.7%, up 1.3 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 26.918 with a share of 4.2%, down 0.2 points from last year. Corolla was the bestselling model ranking in 8th place.

Opel was 7th selling 3.154 units with the share fell at 5.4%, down 0.5 points from the previous month. Year-to-date Opel was 5th with 40.983 sales and 6.4% of share, flat from 2012. The best model was the Astra ranked in 10th.

Citroen rose in 8th from 10th selling 2.001 vehicles with a share of 3.4%, down 0.2 points from the previous month. Year to date Citroen was 11th with 23.303 sales and 3.6% of share, down 0.3 points from last year.

Volkswagen Jetta posted a wonderful performance jumping from the 7th to the first place, with 2.610 registrations and a share of 4.5%, up 1.6 points from the previous month. Year-to-date it was tenth with 16.167 sales and 2.5% of share.

Fiat Linea was 2nd with 2.541 units and a share of 4.4%, up 0.3 points from September. Year to date Linea was the leader with 30.259 sales and 4.7% of share.

Renault Fluence was third with 2.197 units and a share of 3.8%, down 0.9 points from the previous month. Year to date it was third with 21.452 units and a share of 3.3%.

Renault Clio was 4th with 2.031 sales and a share of 3.5%, down 0.2 points from the previous month, followed by Volkswagen Polo in 5th with 2.020 sales and a share of 3.5%, up 0.7 points from the previous month, and by Ford Focus in 6th with 1.876 sales and a share of 3.2%.

Ford Fiesta was 7th, up 9 spots, with 1.717 sales and a share of 3.0%, up 1.0 points from the previous month, followed by Toyota Corolla and Ford Transit in 8th and 9th and by Opel Corsa, which ended the top ten list with 1.8577 units and 2.7% of share.
