In September 2014 according to data released by O.D.D., Otomotiv Distribütörleri Derneği, the total new Car Passengers sold in Turkey have been 66.531, down 1.9% compared with the correspondent period last year.

Year-to-date September sales in Turkey have been 473.508, down 19.2% from the correspondent period last year and this month has confirmed negative trend for all full year, with the 9th consecutive declining month in a series.

Focus2move full year 2014 Car Market volume projection was unchanged at 714.000 representing a 16.3% decline from 2013.

Focus2move has underlined several reasons for the reduction of 19.2% of the Turkish car passenger market in 2014 like geopolitical developments of the area and the restrictions imposed by BDDK (Banking Regulatory and Supervisory Agency) toward credit transactions.

In addition, economy was not growing like in the recent past, also because of slowdown of investments, and the drop off was also affected by the approaching of the electoral process.

First step of the podium in September was reached by Renault with 8.794 sales and 59.788 year to date with share respectively at 12.2% and 12.6%. Sales volume up 0.8% compared with last year.

Immediately behind, Ford is a bit down compared last year (-1.7%) with September sales at 8.222, while Opel confirmed to be the brand of the year, having so far gained two places in the ranking and improving September volume by 39.1%.

Volkswagen is still y.o.y leader with 71.561 registrations and 15.1% market share, but was struggling in September loosing 11.1% of sales with 8.198 sales.

In September great performances have been posted by BMW (10th with 2.417 sales, + 17.8%), Kia (14th with 1.527 units, +57.6%) and Audi (15th with 1.303 sales, +44.5%).
