United Arab Emirates car sales rise 32% in September 2012. Toyota Hilux is the king.

Pushed by a strong economic environment and increased pro capita income, the UAE car market is on fire and September confirmed this trend, posting 29.650 sales, up 32.3% from last year. Year-to-date sales were 228.000, up 29.4%.

Looking at the best brands performance:

Toyota strongly dominated the market with 9.456 sales and a share of 33.0%, down 1.1 points of share from previous month and 1.4 points from Q3.Year-to-date sales were 78.475 with a share of 34.3%. Toyota kept 6 models in the top 10, including the Hilux, the market leader.

Nissan was 2nd, with 4.514 sales and a share of 15.8%, up 1.2 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 32.675 units with a share of 14.3%. The best-selling model was the Sunny, 7th this month, followed by the Tiida in 8th, while the Altima was 10th.

Mitsubishi was 3rd (4th year-to-date) with 1.701 sales and a share of 5.9%, up 0.9 points of share from August. Year-to-date sales were 13.665 with a share of 6.0%. The best-selling model was the Mitsubishi L200, 13th this month, followed by the Lancer, 14th.

Hyundai was 4th (3rdyear-to-date), selling 1.609 units for a share of 5.6%, down 0.3 points from the previous month. Year-to-dare sales were 14.056 with a share of 6.1%. The top selling model was the Elantra, 20th this month.

Fuso in 5th (6th year-to-date) sold 1.399 units with a share of 4.9%, up 0.7 points from the previous month. Year-to-dare sales were 9.175 for a share of 4.0%. The Fuso Canter was 2nd this month.

Ford was 6th (5th year-to-date), with 1.410 sales and a share of 4.0%, up 0.7 points from August. Year-to-date sales were 9.269 with a share of 4.1%.

Kia was 7th with 998 sales and a share of 3.5%, up 0.2 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 8.408 with a share of 3.7%.

Chevrolet was 8th only for 1 unit, selling 787 vehicles for a share of 2.7%, followed by Honda with 786 units and a share of 2.7%.

Bmw was 10th and leader of the luxury segment, with 733 units and a share of 2.6%.

Looking at the best models, The Toyota Hilux confirmed its leadership over the market, with 2.120 sales and a share of 7.4%, down 0.3 points of share from the previous month.

In second, Fuso Carter (5th year-to-date) with 1.244 units and 4.3% of share, up 0.5 points from the previous month, followed in 3rd by the Toyota Prado, with 1.58 sales and a share of 4.0%, down 0.5 points.

The monthly ranking was continued by Toyota models: in 4th the Land Cruiser that sold 1.111 units for a share of 3.9%, followed by the Corolla (5th), with 1.086 units and 3.8% if share, and by the Camry (6th), with 1.011 units and 3.5% of share.

In 7th there was the Nissan Sunny that sold 785 units for a share of 2.7%, followed by the Tiida (8th), with 665 units and a share of 2.3%.

In 9th another Toyota, the Yaris that sold 660 units for a share of 2.3%, followed by Nissan Altima(10th) with 608 units and a share of 2.1%.
