US Light Vehicles Sales Summary, March 2015

US Light Vehicles Sales Honda-Civic_Concept_2015

US Light Vehicles Sales in March 2015 posted the 15th year on year increase gaining a shy 0.6 percent over last year, due to the Ford and Chevrolet sales decline. Toyota kept the speed in second place.

In March 2015, the total new Light Passengers Vehicles sold have been 1.545.710, up a 0.6% from the correspondent month last year and posting the 14th year-on-year increase in a row.

First Quarter 2015 sales had been 3.956.750, up 5.7%.

Selling 226.091 vehicles, Ford have lost 3.6% of sales as many others top 10 brands, such as Chevrolet (3rd with 173.886 sales, -3.2%), Nissan (4th with 132.560 sales, -3.0%), Honda (5th with 111.623 sales, -5.2%) and Dodge (10th with 46.049 units, -24.0%).

Toyota in second place was positive again with 190.481 sales (+5.3%) as Hyundai (6th with 75.016 sales, +12.0%) and Jeep (7th with 71.585, +23.5%).

As far as the car group’s performance, the General Motors was on top with 16.2% of share, followed by Ford with 15.2% and  Toyota with  14.6%.

As far as best-selling models ranking, the Ford F-Series on top sold 67.706 units (-4.6%) followed by the Chevrolet Silverado with 45.193 (+7.0%) and Ram Pick up with 41.595 (-2.2%).
