World Best Selling Pick Up ranking in the first five months of the 2017 led by a record Ford F-Series, projected clearly over the 1 million units in the year. In second place, the Ram Pick up finally overtook the Chevrolet Silverado.

In the first five months of the 2017, the global pick ups segment restarted to grow, after the 2016 flat performance. However total sales had been 2.4 million, up 1.8%, almost the half speed than the industry in total. Persistent crisis in MENA region and in several African markets have penalized the segment more than the growth of South America and ASEAN sales.

Following a positive growing period between 2010 and 2015 when the global pick ups sales grew from 4.1 million to 5.7 million, in the 2016 sales had been penalized by recession in Africa, Middle East and Asean, ending the year with 5.742.000 sales, up a mere 0.1% from the previous year.
