World Car Brands Sales Ranking – Ford was second in June overtaking Volkswagen while Toyota on top gained over all the main challengers. Mercedes and BMW reported increase around 20 percent.

Market Outlook

Following five years of growing trend, the first half 2015 was again the best ever, albeit reporting an almost little improvement, the lower in the last 9 half. Global light vehicles sales were 44.3 milion (+1.7%) and the moderate growth anticipate a second half expected tto be the first negative since the financial crisis in the 2008.

In this environment, single brand performance has been influenced by market trends.

World Top 100 Brands Ranking

Toyota is market leader since 27 quarters and during the last had improved the advantage over the followers. In June Toyota sales had been 734.826 (+5.4) with the best increase among the top 9 brands. Cumulative sales had been 4.12, down 0.3% from the correspondent period last year.

Second in June was Ford outpacing Volkswagen with 536.420 sales (+3.3%) while it was third in the first half with 3.0 million (+2.6%).

Volkswagen suffers mainly due to low Chinese performance and have lost the second place in June with 525.244 sales (-3.8%), In the first half it was second with 3.3 million (-3.1%).

In the race for the fourth place, Nissan scored a great point in June with 409.254 sales (+3.7%) while Hyundai fell 5.8% and was just few units ahead of a still growing Honda.

Chevrolet in 7th place is falling down after the decision to leave Western Europe.

In 10th and 11th place Mercedes and BMW reported huge performance with sales up 21.3% and 19.3%.
