2014 China Auto Industry record at 23.5 million led by VW Group as best carmakers in the world. China counts 27 percent of total car sold in the world and Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda sales are on fire.

In December 2014 according to data released by C.A.A.M., the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, total new Light Passengers Vehicles sold in China have been 2.433.308, up 14.0% compared with the correspondent month last year, achieving the 22th year on year consecutive growing step.

Full Year 2014 sales in China have been 23.561.890, up 7.6% from 2013.

This is the highest level ever achieved by any single car market worldwide. China represents the 27.1% of total global light vehicles sales further improving its rule. One year ago it was the 26.0%, so Chinese growing trend is again astonishing.

December was above any expectations and pushed by need to reduce dealership inventory for many local producers combined with a strong wholesale push by others (mainly importers) aiming to improve quarterly and annual financial performance report.

Indeed, considering the huge weight of the country, the effect of numbers achieved here are directly and strongly correlated with the financial global performance of any carmaker.

Volkswagen did not need to improve 2014 outlook while well start the next year and this is clearly shown in the December heavy sales deceleration, with only 182.251 sales (-5.8%) with share only at 7.5%. Volkswagen full year sales were the all-time record at 2.793.266 (+13.1%) gaining share at 11.8%. And now German guys are ready to fast start the next year!

Honda’s December volume had been the best ever in a single month with a high fly from the previous year with 144.235 (+40.3%) jumping in second place. However, in the full year Honda was only 9th with 795.934 sales (+5.8%).

Wuling was third in December with 129.234 sales (+1.8%) fueled by car passengers division. In the year it was second with record 1.624.264 sales (+6.0%).

The last month of the year was characterized by peak of sales for many brands. Let us highlight those of Chevrolet (5th with 94.805 sales, +43.7%), Buick (6th with 94.491, +63.6%), Kia (11th with 69.505 units, +37.7%), Audi (13th with 59.236 sales, +57.3%), Great Wall (15th with 58.500 sales, +71.5%), Haval (16th with 55.865 units, +94.6%) and Jimbei (18th with 44.608, +59.5%).

If you are expert of this sector, you understand why a final year strong performance is not always an indicator of good healthy.
