In 2014 car market in New Caledonia was flat near 10.000 units while the American Ford was kept the throne ahead of Toyota and thanks to the success of the pick-up Ranger.
In December 2014 total new Car Passengers sold in New Caledonia, a French overseas territory close to Australia, have been 766, down 7.4 compared with the correspondent month last year.
Full Year 2014 sales in New Caledonia have been 9.926, up 2 units from 2013.
Although this is a French territory, the market leader continue to not be a French carmaker but the American Blue Oval of Ford that in the 2014 has sold 1.288 vehicles (-3.3%) with a market share of 13.0%, down 0.4 points from 2013.
In second place arrived Toyota with 822 sales (-9.7%) with share at 8.3%, followed by Renault with 754 sales (+19.1%), Peugeot with 718 (-1.9%) and Hyundai with 715 (+16.3%).
As far as the car group’s performance and ranking, the leader was Renault-Nissan PSA with 19.4% of market share followed by P.S.A. with 13.9% and Hyundai Group with 13.5%.
As far as best-selling models ranking, the Ford Ranger led the ranking with 828sales (-0.5%) followed by Toyota Hilux with 489 units (-18.6%) and Dacia Duster with 422 (-11.1%).
