Reunion island is the 10th largest vehicles market in Africa and during the 2014 confirmed the momentum posting the best sales year since 2009. It is dominated by French makers with 48% of share. Peugeot 208 was the best-selling model.
Market Outlook
The prosper island in the 2014 was World’s 80th car market and the Africa’s 10th largest with a T.I.V. of 25.348 units (+6.1%) hitting the highest level since 2009.
The car density is almost high and the level of sales volume for market leader is quite relevant, considering the region around.
Future perspectives are positive as the main economic activity in the country, Tourism, is flourishing.
The 48% of sales are held by French make with Peugeot ruling as market leader with 5.159 sales last year (+13.3%) followed by Renault with 4.662 (+5.4%) and Citroen with 2.345 (+5.7%).
The best-selling model was the Peugeot 208 with 2.036 sales followed by the Renault Clio with 1.915 and Renault Captur with 863.
