Korea Best Selling Cars Ranking in 2024 saw the Kia Sorento as the new leader, followed by the Kia Carnival and the Hyundai Santa Fe. The Hyundai Sonata (48.8%) joined the Top 10 and ranked in 9th.
In a market where the top two brands, Hyundai and Kia, control together around 70% of the market share, the top 10 best-selling models ranking is almost entirely held by the two Koreans.
Looking at cumulative sales up to October 2024, the Kia Sorento -up 2 spots- became the new best selling car, with 75,276 new registrations (+10.1%) and 5.7% market share.
In second place ranked the Kia Carnival -up 2 spots- with 67,997 sales (+15.8%), followed by the Hyundai Santa Fe -up 12 spots- with 63,336 sales (+81.6%) and the Kia Sportage -up 1 spot- with 61,594 sales (+6.1%).
The Hyundai Grandeur lost 4 spots ranking into 5th with 59,397 sales (-38.6%) followed by the Hyundai Porter -down 4 spots- with 58,517 new registrations (-29%), the Kia Seltos -up 1 spot- with 51,498 units sold (+20.8%) and the Hyundai Avante -down 2 spots- with 44,976 sales (-17.3%).
In 8th, ranked the Hyundai Sonata -up 9 spots- with 44,010 new registrations (+48.8%) ahead of the Hyundai Tucson -up 1 spot- which closed the top 10 with 43,069 units sold (+16.6%)
