Mexico best selling cars ranking in the 2018 with the Nissan Versa leader again, but with a negative trend, followed by the Chevrolet Aveo with a great performance, and the Chevrolet Beat. The top SUV is the Honda CR-V ranking 10th, despite losing 14.8% of sales
Sales have started to decline in the 2017 – ending the year at 1.533.000 (-5%) and then is still on place with all the twelve months of the 2018 losing year on year and with December marking the 20th consecutive month of year-on-year decline. The full year was reported by A.M.I.A., the Association of Mexican Automotive Industry, at 1.421.885, losing 7.1%.
As far as the best-selling models ranking in the 2018, the Nissan Versa (all versions) has dominated the scene, like in the previous year, having sold so far 90.883 units (-2.3%). The Nissan Versa Note actually is at the end of the life cycle of the second generation, which was introduced in Latin America in the 2013 with immediate success. Latin American models are built-in Nissan Mexicana SA de CV in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
In second place the Chevrolet Aveo a former leader in this country, with 82.035 (+24.7%) followed in third by the Chevrolet Beat with 70.656 units.
In fourth place the new Nissan NP300 with 66.824 (-11.3%) units ahead of the Volkswagen Vento with 56.130 (-11.5%) and the Nissan March with 53.414 units (-1.2%).
Behind, the Nissan Sentra with 36.472 sales (-14.7%) followed by the Volkswagen Jetta with 34.625 (-23.5%), the Kia Rio with 32.904 (+13.1%) and in 10th place the Honda CR-V with 23.649 (-14.8%).
