Japan best selling cars 2018 led by the kei-car Honda N-Box up 10.7% followed by the surprise of the year, the Suzuki Spacia. The Daihatsu Move is only sixth, while the Daihatsu Mira enters into the Top10.
In the 2018, the total vehicles market (including HCVs and Bus) was flat. Having started negatively the year, down 24% in the first quarter, the sales have recovered ending at 5.269.442 (+0.1%). This is the second consecutive positive annual score, the best result since 2014.
As far as the best selling car passenger’s model in 2018, a new leader is on top of the list and is the kei-car Honda N-Box with 241.870 sales (+10.7%) with a wide gap over all others.
In second place the surprise of the year, up 13 spots, the Suzuki Spacia with 152.104 sales (+66.3%) ahead of the Nissan Dayz with 141.495 (+2.9%).
In fourth place the Daihatsu Tanto with 136.558 (-3.4%) ahead of the Nissan Note with 136.324 (-1.9%), the Daihatsu Move, with 135.896 units (-3.9%) and the Toyota Aqua with 126.561 (-3.8%).
In eight place the Toyota Prius with 115.462 sales (-28.2%) followed by the Suzuki Wagon R with 108.013 (-5.8%) and in 10th place the Daihatsu Mira with 107.283 (+12%).
