World Best Selling Car ranking in 2015 registers the new All Time record of sales in a single year scored by the leader, the Toyota Corolla, above 1.3 million units. Volkswagen Golf was second, first time over the 1 million.
Having downloaded Chinese market data, we finally we can update the full year 2015 World’s ranking comparing the performance of the top 100 model with the previous year.

First time ever, a model sold over 1.3 million vehicles in a calendar year and this was -of course – the Toyota Corolla that led the global ranking since “ever” improving volumes year after year. In the 2015 sales climbed at 1.339.024 (+4.7%) thanks to the model success in almost al the countries. The top market for Corolla is the USA with 363.332 sales, followed by China at 300.641 and Japan at 109.027. Last year strong increase were posted in Pakistan (+59.8%), UAE (+37.1%) and Romania (+73.6%).
Celebrating the 40th years of live, the Volkswagen Golf advanced in the second global place, first time ever, outpacing the magic quota 1 million selling 1.041.279 units (+8.4%).  Leader in Europe since 40 years, the top market in the 2015 was again Germany with 270.952 sales, followed by China with 195.845, UK with 75.038, USA with 65.308 and Italy with 44.436. Remarkable the increase scored in USA (+93.9%), Turkey (+45.6%), Canada  (+68.4%) and Mexico (+145%).
The top selling vehicles in US since 40 years, last year advanced in third global place. It is the Ford F-Series sold in 920.172 units (+1.6%). Sales are very concentrated with US and Canada representing 780.000 and 118.837 units respectively.
Second until two years ago, the Ford Focus is declining losing near 20% of 2014 volume and losing two spots with 826.271 sales. However sales lost in China (-37% or around 150.000 units had been more than balance by the launch of the new Escort (entered in the ranking in 84th place with 214.363 sales ).
In 5th place the Toyota Camry with 754.154 sales (-1.9%) ahead of the Hyundai Elantra (746.924, -9.1%), the Volkswagen Polo advanced 3 spots from last year with 698.182 sales (+2.2%) ahead of the leader of SUV segment, the Honda CR-V (696.594, -2.5%), the large pick-up Chevrolet Silverado (up 7 spots with 669.683 sales, +12.9%) and the second best SUV, the Toyota Rav4, up 2 spots with 664.282 sales (+5.5%).
Reading the long list of top 100 models, the falling stars list includes the Ford Fiesta (down 9 spots, 18th with 546.348, -21.5%) and the Chevrolet Cruze (down 5 spots, 16th with 558.815 sales, -16.2%).
