Liechtenstein 2016. Record sales in the German feud

Liechtenstein Auto Market 2016 moderately down confirming the steady trend. Despite all brands are imported in this little country, it is a German feud with Volkswagen, Audi and BMW on podium.

Openness to global trade and investment is a core strength of Liechtenstein’s small economy. A high degree of macroeconomic and political stability minimizes uncertainty, and the transparent regulatory framework supports the operation of numerous small and medium-sized enterprises.

As regard the auto industry, the sales level seemed to be restored around 2.000 units in 2015, following the sharp decline in double figures reported in 2014. Unfortunately, the vehicles market has lost momentum in 2016, losing 4.2%% with 1.984 sales.

Volkswagen managed the ranking for the second consecutive year, gaining 7.3% at 367 units. Audi was second ahead of BMW respectively with 203 (-14.3%) and 176 (-5.4%), making the podium unchanged on 2015. Among the best performance there were reported for Skoda, Mazda and Suzuki.

Opel posted the sharpest slowdown of the year losing 33.3%, followed by Porsche, Seat, Ford and Mercedes.
