Martinique Vehicles Market 2016 crossed for the first time since 2008 the 14.000 annual milestone thanks to a positive economic mood. Peugeot beat the rival Renault, just for peanuts ,pushed up by the demand on 208.

Market Outlook

Meantime, the domestic vehicles market in 2016 hit the best sales level since 2008 with 14.192 units (+15.7%). following the negative performance of the 2015, it was the sharpest increase of the last seven years.

Competitive Arena

Peugeot was the new leader with 2.244 units (+12.0%), beating the rival Renault with 2.220 (+1.0%), followed by Dacia in third place with 1.272 sales (+10.4%). Among the great performances in double-digit were reported for Citroen, Ford and Volkswagen, while Toyota was he best performer improving 47.9%.

Opel posted the worst performance of the year, despite the moderate decline by 3.9%.

The Peugeot 208 was the best-selling model with 1.351 units (+11.6%) ahead of the Renault Clio with 1.277 (+2.7%) and the Dacia Sandero with 880 (+14.6%).
