World Ranking By Country in 2024. Light vehicle sales up to October 2024 were 68,83 million, with a 1.5% increase in year-on-year volume.

Global year-to-date sales up to October 2024 amounted to 68,83 million units (+1.5%). World Ranking by Country considers cumulative registrations from more than 150 countries worldwide.

China was still the leading global market with 20,59 million year-to-date sales, growing by 2.2%. This huge market accounts for 29.9% of all global sales.

USA ranked in second position with 13,06 million cumulative sales ad a 1.5% year-on-year increase in sales. The country holds a 19% share of the global market. 

In third position ranked India -up 1 spot- with 3,66 million units (+3.4%) followed by Japan -down 1 spot- with 3,56 million of light vehicles sold (-7.2%).

Ranked in fifth, Germany was the largest European country, with 2,34 million new registrations (-0.3%), followed by Brazil with 1,99 million new units sold (+14.7%).

UK followed closely in 7th spot with 1,66 million sales (+3.8%), in front of Canada -up 1 spot- at 1,54 million new registrations (+8.1%).

In 9th place France  -down 1 spot- with 1,4 million new units sold (-2.8%) and in 10th place Italy -up 1 spot- with 1,33 million registrations (+1.1%).
