Romania best selling cars ranking in 2020 sees Dacia holding the entire podium, with the Logan at 14.8% followed by the Duster and the Sandero. The Ford Puma enters the leaderboard and lands in 10th position.
The Dacia Logan is a small family car or compact MPV (Logan MCV) produced jointly by the French manufacturer Renault and its Romanian subsidiary Dacia since 2004. It is currently in its second generation, launched in 2013 and has been manufactured at Dacia’s automobile plant in Mioveni, Romania, and at Renault’s plants in Morocco, Brazil, Turkey, Russia, Colombia, Iran, India, and South Africa.
It has also been marketed as the Renault Logan, Nissan Aprio, Mahindra Verito, Renault Tondar 90, Lada Largus (the MCV), Nissan NP200 (the pick-up), or Renault Symbol, depending on the existing presence or positioning of the Renault brand.
Indeed, the Dacia Logan dominates in 2020 with 14.8% of share with 18.474 sales (-28.5%), ahead of the Dacia Duster with 7.9% market share and 9.825 units (-15%) and the Sandero with 9.420 units (-5.1%).
In fourth place, the Renault Clio with 3.958 sales (-25.3%), followed by the Skoda Octavia with 3.706 units (-25.3%).
In sixth place, the Renault Mégane -up 1 spot- registered 2.273 sales (-41.2%), followed by the Renault Capture -jumping 4 spots- with 2.247 sales (-9.4%) and the Volkswagen Golf -up 5 spots- with 2.124 units (-10.9%).
Closing the top 10, the Nissan Qashqai fell in 9th place -down 3 spots- with 2.035 units (-49.5%) ahead of the new entry in the leaderboard, the Ford Puma reaching 10th place with 1.996 units sold.
