Latin America best-selling cars ranking final data in 2021 sees the Toyota Hilux on top, followed by the the Fiat Strada and the Chevrolet Onix, while the Hyundai Creta reported an impressive performance, rising 9 spots.

As far as the best-selling cars ranking, while our report assembles data for 41 countries, this ranking is heavily conditioned by the trend in the top markets (Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina), which counts nearly as half of the regional sales.

The Toyota Hilux gained the market throne, selling 143k units (3% share) up in 2021, followed by the Fiat Strada -up 5 spots- with 119k units holding 2.5% share, and the Chevrolet Onix -down 2 spots-, which reported 112k sales with 2.3% share.

The Chevrolet Onix  launched in 2012 to succeed Chevrolet Corsa and some versions of Chevrolet Celta. Made in a Brazilian plan at Gravataí, it is only available with a five-door hatchback, two flex-fuel engines (999 cm³ and 78/80 cv, 1,389 cm³, and 98/106 cv), five-speed manual transmission, front-wheel drive. The sedan derivative is sold under the name Prisma and distributed in selected markets.

Behind, we find the Nissan Versa -up 1 spot- with 106k (2.2% share), followed by the Volkswagen Gol -down 1 spot- with 96k units (2% share) and the Hyundai HB20 with 92k sales (1.9% share).

The Hyundai Creta rose 9 spots with 90k sales (1.9% share)  ahead of the Fiat Argo -rising 3 spots- with 89k sales (1.8% share) and the Jeep Renegade -rising 3 spots- with 88k units (1.8% share).

At the edge of the ranking we have the Jeep Compass, reaching 79k sales (1.6% share).
