Denmark Best-selling cars ranking in 2021 sees only small or compact models among top sellers because of the high taxation system. The best-seller is the Ford Kuga, followed by the Citroen C3 and the Toyota Yaris.
The Danish car passenger’s market is different from the others Scandinavian market, usually highly populated by large and expensive models, due to the peculiarity of the local taxation, which penalized the large size cars in favor of the small and compact.
Reading the ranking in 2021, the data confirms this peculiarity as the best seller is the Ford Kuga, up 2 spots from the previous year with 5,890 units (3.2% share). The second-best, the Citroen C3 reported a 2.8% market share with 5,226 units sold.
In third place we have the Toyota Yaris, which registered 4,262 units sold, reaching 2.3% market share.
In fourth place there is the previous leader, the Peugeot 208, which reported 4,088 units sold (2.2% share), followed by the Toyota Aygo with 3,542 units (1.9% share), the BMW 3 Series -up 9 spots- with 3,481 units (1.9% share), and the Opel Corsa with 3,292 units sold (1.8% share).
In eight place, the Hyundai i10 -up 12 spots- with 3,277 units (1.8% share) followed by the Peugeot 3008 -up 23 spots- with 3,172 units (1.7% share) and the Kia Cee’d -up 14 spots- with 3,126 units (1.7% share).
