Polish Cars Sales in 2023 reached a total of 475,030 sales, a 13.2% increase compared to last year. This strong momentum was also reflected in December which grew 14.3% with 42,117 new sales.
Market Trend and Outlook
The Polish car market closed 2023 with a total of 475,030 total sales, increasing 13.2% in comparison to the prior year. December 2023 grew for the 16th consecutive month, reporting 42,117 new sales (+14.2%).
Looking at cumulative data from 2023 brand-wise, the leader was still Toyota with 91,195 sales (+23.5%), followed by Skoda in second at 51,478 (+22.4%). These two brands together held close to 30% market share.
Kia maintained 3rd with 36,081 sales (+7.0%), in front of Volkswagen in 4th with 33,923 new registrations (+10.1%).
Hyundai ranked in 5th place with 26,931 sales (+0.2%), followed by Audi -up 3 spots- in 6th at 26,024 (+34.7%), BMW at 23,240 sales (-2.4%) and Mercedes with 21,339 (-0.1%).
Renault gained two places ranking in 9th position and accumulating 18,222 sales (+25.2%), while Dacia lost 2 spots into 10th with 17,844 new car registrations (-13.9%).
Looking at specific models the Toyota Corolla was still the best seller with a 47.8% increase in year-on-year sales. The Skoda Octavia ranked in second with a 45.1% growth.
