Serbia car market moderately growth in 2023. Full year sales have been 30.683 (+6.4%) Volkswagen group (+34,4%) dominates the market with over 33% of share and Skoda and VW as best performing brands.
Market Trend and Outlook
The Serbian vehicle market grew with full year figures at 30,683, while being up 6.4% from the previous year. December grew, for the 5th consecutive month, after falling 2.2% in July, reporting 2,903 new vehicle sales (+16.4%).
Looking at cumulative data up to December 2023 brand-wise, the leader Skoda reports 6,673 sales (+12.7%), followed by Volkswagen -up 7 spots- at 3,115 (+90.2%). Renault maintains 3rd position with a 2,787 new registrations (+5.1%).
Hyundai gains 1 spot into 4th with 2,597 sales (+25.7%), followed by Toyota -up 1 spot- at 2,574 sales (+25.5%), Fiat -down 4 spots- at 2,487 (-40.2%), Kia -down 3 spots- at 2,215 (+3.0%) and Citroen -down 1 spot- maintaining 8th spot with 1,766 cumulative registrations (-9.0%).
Dacia falls 1 spot into 9th spot with 1,564 registrations (-12.6%) and Opel -up 1 spot- closes the top 10 with 939 cumulative sales (+37.9%).
The Skoda Octavia is the best selling model with a 42.7% increase in volume compared to 2022, followed by the Skoda Scala, up 39.5% and 16 spots.
