World Best Selling Small Car in 2023 under Toyota dictatorship. For the fourth year in a row, in 2023 the world’s best selling small car was the Toyota Yaris with 484.456 sales (+0.2%) and a still wide gap over all followers.
The technological supremacy shown by Toyota when introduced the last generation Yaris, with the best-in-class small hybrid engine, is confirmed again by the global ranking in the car with a size around 4 meter, defined “Small Cars”.
For the fourth year in a row, in 2023 the world’s best selling small car was the Toyota Yaris with 484.456 sales (+0.2%) and a still wide gap over all followers.
In second place the Volkswagen Polo with 356.607 registrations (+54.2%), a remarkable increase for a not young model.
In third place arrived Renault Clio rising 2 spots with 275.095 sales (+35.0%) thanks for the additional sales from the hybrid version.
Under the podium the Dacia Sandero maintains the 4th place with 263.404 sales (+16.6%) and was just ahead of the Peugeot 208 -down 3 spots- with 252.502 units sold (-14.3%).
In sixth place the rising star, the Chinese BYD Seagull -up from the 194 place in the previous year- with 239.270 sales.
Seventh was the Honda N-Box with 231.393 registrations (+14.4%) followed by the Citroen C3 with 222.520 registrations (+18.0%), the Opel Corsa -up 1 spot- with 213.895 sales (+19.2%).
In 10th place the Maruti Swift with 203.469 sales (+15.3%).
