Argentina Autos September Sales

Argentina Autos September Sales kept momentum despite the economic environment further deteriorated with recession over 3% on annual basis and deceleration in private consumption.

Market Outlook

The Argentine economy was in deep recession in Q2 after recording the third consecutive quarter-on-quarter decrease. GDP contracted 3.4% on an annual basis as a deceleration in private consumption, due to a decrease in real wages and a deterioration in the labor market, took a toll on growth.

However the trend in the auto sector is different and after having bottomed out last year with a 2014-2015 fall that had reduced by 40% the level of sales, the domestic market is moderately recovering this year. The trend unchanged in the third quarter

Indeed, according to data released by the ACARA and the ADEFA, the Argentinian Associations of car manufacturers and dealers, in September the vehicles sold had been 68.801 units, up 10.7%.

Year to date the total vehicles sales have been 524.322 units, up 9.9%.
