Australia market report. November 2016

Australia new vehicles sales in November 2016

Australia new vehicles sales in November decreased slightly, however the market is ready to collect the second consecutive annual record. The Toyota Hilux confirmed the leadership.

Market Outlook

Consumer confidence softened in November while remaining in a positive territory, due to heightened global uncertainty in the lead up to the U.S. presidential election. The outlook for 2017 is clouded since the recent rise in coal and iron ore prices is unlikely to be sustainable and the U.S. elections have sparked heightened international uncertainty.

Meantime, the domestic vehicles market in November declined slightly, interrupting the positive wake which lasted three months.

According to data released by the FCAI, the Federation of Australian Car Manufacturers, the vehicles sold last month had been 98.056, down 0.6%. Year to date figures had been 1.057.581, up 2.4%
