Best Selling Cars Ranking in China in 2024. Changan CS75 is the new leader ahead of BYD Qin Plus and Tesla Model Y. However, all focus is on the outstanding performance of the just launched Aito M7, landed in 4th place.
As reported in dedicated post on Chinese Market, the 2024 start was really positive for the largest market in the world, with a growing speed well above expectations.
Surprise within surprises is the new best selling model in the market, which is for the first time made by Changan. It is the Changan CS75, up from the 9th place a year before and now on top of the list with 59.235 sales (+69.1%).
In second place the other emerging model, the electric BYD Qin Plus, up 6 spots, with 57.095 sales (+46.3%), while the 2023 leader, the Tesla Model Y fell in third place with 52.449 (+32.1%).
However, this ranking is subject to big changes in the coming period as the fourth place has been taken by a new model, the Aito M7, sold in 51.080 units. Aito M7 is a new electric SUV made the joint venture made by Huawei and Seres, with1.300 km of autonomy.
The 2022 leader, the Nissan Sylphy ranks in fifth place with 50.262 (+1.3%) ahead of the Volkswagen Lavida with 46.819 (-22%), the Toyota Corolla with 44.919 (+13.5%) and the BYD Song -with 44.906 (-38.3%)
In ninth place the new entry BYD Seagull with 42.453 registrations followed in 10th place by the Volkswagen Sagitar with 42.035 (+20.2%).
