Canada Auto Industry in January at the best ever sales level.

Canada Auto Industry

Canada Auto Industry in January at the best ever sales level projecting over 2 million units for the entire year. Ford up in double digit while Honda jumped in third step with strong demand on all the line up.

Economic Outlook

Canada’s economy underwent a mild resurrection in November, as monthly GDP figures indicate that the economy expanded 0.3% over the previous month, following October’s flat growth, and September’s sharp contraction.

The manufacturing sector observed strong gains. Manufacturing relies heavily on exports to the U.S., and will likely be restrained somewhat as the fourth quarter in the U.S. is shaping up to be gloomy.

Other indicators paint a mixed picture: unemployment remains at elevated levels, and the Ivey PMI witnessed a striking decrease in December, although retail sales, which are considered a leading indicator for consumer demand, observed a strong growth in November.
