Canada market report. November 2016

Canadian Cars Market in November 2016

Canada Cars Market in November scored the best growth of the year, despite the volatile oil prices and the political uncertainties. Chevrolet shined, jumping on 2nd place.

Market Outlook

According to the Canadian government, CETA’s implementation could boost Canada’s economy by up to CAD 12 billion a year, and bilateral trade with EU countries by 20%. For Canada’s external sector, the agreement is of particular importance as it reduces its reliance on the U.S. as an export market at a time where president-elect Donald Trump is threatening to renegotiate NAFTA, along with other trade deals.

Meantime, the domestic cars market in November recorded the best performance year to date, increasing in double digit. Indeed, according to the data released by the Canadian Transportation Authority, in November the new light vehicles sales had been 160.834, up 10.4%.

Year to date November 2016 sales had been 1.812.260 units, up 2.3% compared to the same period of 2015.
