Kazakhstan 2014. Vehicles sales stable at highest level ever

In 2014 the car market in Kazakhstan slipped 1% from the record scored in the previous year. The market was the 43rd at global level. The Group Renault-Nissan dominates.

In December 2014 according to data released by Kazakhstan Auto Association, total new light passengers cars sold in Kazakhstan have been 17.868, up 14.2% from year ago.

Following the astonishing increase scored in the 2013 when the market entered in the Top 50 at global level in the Full Year 2014 sales have been 163.561, down 0.8% from 2013, however the second best level ever.

In December Lada kept the bad momentum selling 3.277 units, down 37.1%. Full Year sales were 45.174 (-20.3%) with share at 28.3%.

Kia was second in the year with 17.709 sales (+39.6%) followed by Hyundai with 13.961 (+12.0%), Toyota with 12.455(+0.1%) and Chevrolet with 11.764 (+12.8%).

Volkswagen was the fastest growing brand in the year with sales at 4.054 (+59.8%).

As far as the car group’s performance and ranking, the annual leader was Renault-Nissan with 37.0% of market share followed by Hyundai Group with 19.8% and GM with 14.3%.

 As far as best-selling models ranking, the Lada Priora was on top of annual list with 15.783 sales and share at 10.0%, followed by Lada Granta with 12.140 units and Hyundai Accent at 11.402.

A strong performance was reported for Kia Rio (4th with 8.601 sales, +128.4%), Lada Largus (5th with 7.434 units, +113.1%) and Volkswagen Polo (12th with 3.678 units, +256.1%).
