Chile Car Market in 2012 hit new record sales. Chery in the top 10.

In December, the light passenger vehicles sold in Chile were 32.495, up 5.0% and the Full Year sales were 338.825, up 1.4%, from last year, new all-time record, the third in a row.

 

Looking at the best brand performance:

Chevrolet in 1st sold 6.206 units with a share of 19.1%, up 2.3 points of share from the previous month and up 3.0 points from the Q3. During the 2012 Chevrolet sold 57.238 vehicles with a share of 16.9%.

Hyundai was 2nd selling 3.163 units with a share of 9.7%, down 0.7 points of share from the previous month and 1.1 points from the Q3. In the last year Hyundai sold 35.123 vehicles with a share of 10.4%.

Nissan was 3rd selling 2.893 units with a share of 89%, down 0.7 points of share from the previous month and from the Q3. In 2012 Nissan sold 34.124 vehicles with a share of 10.1%.

Toyota was 4th (5th year-to-date) selling 2.765 units with a share of 8.5%, down 0.6 points from the previous month and up 0.7 points from the Q3. Sales in 2012 were 26.562 with a share of 7.8%.

Kia was 5th (4th year-to-date) with 2.710 sales and a share of 8.3%, up 0.3 points from the previous month and down 0.5 points from the Q3. During the 2012 Kia sold 28.916 vehicles with a share of 8.5%.

Suzuki was 6th with 1.422 units with a share of 4.4%, down 0.3 points from the previous month and 1.8 points from the Q3. In the 2012 Suzuki sold 17.389 vehicles with a share of 5.1%.

Ford was 7th, with 1.239 units and a share of 3.8%, down 0.1 points from the previous month and down 1.0 points from the Q3. Sales in 2012 were 11.032 with a share of 3.3%.

Mitsubishi was 8th (9th year-to-date) selling 767 units with a share of 2.4%, down 0.4 points from the previous month and up 0.6 points from the Q3. During the 2012 Mitsubishi sold 8.599 vehicles with a share of 2.5%.
